Charleston Area Runners OK After Boston Marathon Exposions

UPDATE 5:47 p.m.: The 16 Charleston area participants in the Boston Marathon are reportedly uninjured.

Charleston City Councilman and active runner Mike Seekings confirmed in an email to Patch.com Monday afternoon that all of the Charleston area participants in the 2013 Boston Marathon have been accounted for and are OK.

Seekings had qualified for the marathon but did not run in the event Monday.

"I did not run. All from Charleston are OK. Upside down world," Seekings wrote.

UPDATE: The following runners have been confirmed OK and uninjured:

• Jacob Driggers of Daniel Island
• Chris May of Daniel Island
• Maureen Bodkin of Summerville
• Lauren Jaynes of Summerville
• Bill Rowell of Mount Pleasant
• Mike Seekings of Charleston
