B.E.'s Loy Sets State Discus Record, Girls Team Wins State

Bishop England's girls track team took home the AA State Championship title Saturday and the boys team placed second while discus thrower Griffie Loy was crushing the state record in his event

The Battling Bishops added another state title to the trophy case on Saturday as the girls track team took home the AA State Championship title.

The Lady Bishops finished with 88 points, 13 points ahead of AA runner-up Batesburg-Leesville. Full results from the state track meet is available from SCRunners.com. The Lady Bishops didn't dominate the competition in many events aside from the 4X400 meter relay and 4X800 meter relay and Michelle Lussier's 400 meter hurdle win, but they racked up enough points with lots of second and third place finishes to come away with the win.

Among the Lady Bishops Lussier's 400 meter hurdle performance was good enough to meet the National Silver Standard, putting her among the elite hurdlers across the nation.
