Bette Midler Takes Boeing Tour

Music legend visits North Charleston Dreamliner plant

She saw the wings, but did she see the wind beneath the wings?

Bette Midler, a Broadway and cabaret legend, made a unique stop on a visit to the Lowcountry on Thursday: Boeing.

The star tweeted about her look at the 787 Dreamliner facility: "People, just got back from a tour of Boeing plant in SC. A great experience; great folks making a great product! Buy American!!"

According to WCIV, ABC News 4, Boeing spokeswoman Candy Eslinger confirmed Midler's visit. "Some of our teammates got a chance to shake her hand and welcome her to the site."

Midler also tweeted on the Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds wedding at Boone Hall Plantation earlier this month.

Guess what? Bette Midler sits on a toilet just like every other woman. I cannot get over this "fawining" over a person who knows how to sing--big deal. And for this she gets her guided personal tour in lieu of g-d knows how many people in the low country who would appreciate same and have probably done more for this area and the Boeing story than a visiting singer. And to add to the story, the crack ABC News Team 4 "actually got to "shake her hand" wow wee, wow wee. Gee, I wonder if they will ever wash that hand again.

Irony alert: That really sounds like something Bette Midler would say.

Each post is more bitter and ill informed than the last. You're angry at a person who said nice things about SC and America because they got a tour of a factory? Are you insane? Some of the Boeing people got to shake her hand, not the channel 4 people. Perhaps they were fans, I don't see why they deserve to be mocked.

I was working on site that day and people were acting a fool about her being there. It caused A LOT of chaos and people weren't busy doing their jobs like they should have been. I'm so glad I left early that day. What a joke to think that any celebrity is of a greater value than a regular human being. We ALL put our pants on the same way!!

re: '...put our pants on the same way!!..people were acting a fool...'

regardless of how we put on our pants
we/many/most act the fool over celebrities...eg, teens screaming over sinatra, elvis, beetles, bieber, etc...it's a character flaw...
