Charleston County Democrats are planning to spend all day Saturday registering voters.
Volunteers will be registering voters and answering questions about registration at the party's West Ashley Office at 1131 Savannah Hwy. The registration drive will be non-partisan and open to the general public, according to a press statement.
“Our volunteers will assist anyone seeking to register to vote or to update their voter registration,” said Lynn Meffert, a CCDP vice chair. “We favor including as many eligible voters as possible in the November elections.”
Volunteers will also be making phone and in-person contacts with voters during a "Day of Action" scheduled from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Anyone interested in volunteering can contact the party at 577-6000 or WestAshleyDemocrats@gmail.com.

Want to meet a group of the most pitiful and stupid people in Charleston--go to the meeting. I can't make it, I have a rock in my backyard that I want to have a conversation with---the response is as good as I will get at the meeting but I do not have to go to W. Ashley.

You need to temper your expectations a bit more realistically....according to the article they are having a day to help register voters and inform them of their voting rights.
So if you showed up with the sole-intent to register to vote then no problem. However if you show up with a pre-conceived notion about a bunch of people you don't even know, aligning them negatively in your head before even physically shaking their hand...well..that makes you a bigot...which isn't shocking.
It's Democratic run, but bi-partisan...and in a country where 30% of the population doesn't even register to vote, much less participate in it, every little bit is a win for democracy. Unless of course you disagree with the direction we are going in, then I suppose you can whine and cry about it...preferably to your rock.
Have a good one, Dmaz

Hey Dmaz:
When it comes to democrats and the piece of garbage in the whitehouse and all the crap he surrounds himself with---yup--I am a bigot and extremely proud of it. Thank you for the compliment. If by "disagree with the direction we are going in" you mean following this narcissistic moslem socialist to complete economic ruin, you are truly clueless to who he is and what he represents and you are truly my enemy. Just responding to you makes me want to retch.

This person is the most vocal Republican on Patch. He is representing you, and poorly. Please, won't just one reasonable Republican tell this guy to quit embarrassing you guys? I know you're out there. Show America that there are some Republicans willing to take the party back from the zealots and the bigots and the liars. Please.

@Ambassador: why do you think "moslem" is some kind of pejorative?

Ambassador.
I respect your passion, you and I are one in the same. We both love our country. You're afraid. We all can see that. It's understandable, in a way. Unfamiliarity breeds it. No worries, you do your thing and I'll do mine. That said, I'm not going to waste anymore time dealing with you if all you spew is vitriol. Now of you're capable of playing nice and acting like a civilized adult then we can be friends again.
Best wishes in life,
DMaz.
Ps I make over 100k a year and I'm a democrat.
