Charleston Teen Charged in Burglary, Car Break-in

Charleston Police have charged a 17-year-old in two recent crimes on Pebble Road in West Ashley

Charleston Police credit a tip from a concerned citizen with leading to the arrest of a 17-year-old in connection with a recent burglary and car break-in on Pebble Road.

Michael Diehl, 17, of Charleston, was charged with burglary — 1st degree, breaking into a motor vehicle and petit larceny after police say they recovered some items stolen during the recent crimes in Diehl's possession, according to a CPD statement.

The charges stem from two separate incidents. In the first, on March 8, someone broke into a Pebble Road apartment through a bathroom window and stole two Airsoft pellet guns, a GPS and several collectible coins.

Then on March 18, someone broke into a car on Pebble Road and stole a mobile phone charger and the keyless entry remote for the car. Police have been able to return the phone charger and keyless entry remote to the victim, according to the statement.
