Fire Consumes Building at Moss Creek Apartments

Three people suffered minor injuries during a fire Friday morning at Moss Creek Apartments

The American Red Cross will be helping about 30 people find temporary housing after a two-story apartment building at Moss Creek Apartments on William Kennerty Drive burned Friday morning.

The fire broke out around 6:15 a.m. Friday, according to Charleston Police Cpl. Fred Bowie, and fire fighters were still dousing hot spots around 11 a.m.

"There were 16 units in the building," Bowie said. "It looks like it's going to be a total loss."
