Haley Not Under IRS Investigation
S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley gets vindication over indictment allegations
S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley released a copy of a letter she received from the IRS stating it determined an investigation into the Sikh Society of South Carolina was not warranted for the 2009 tax year.
"As we said from the very beginning, there was not an ounce of truth to any of these accusations – they were totally contrived, totally false, and it is a tremendous shame that once again the good names of the governor and her family were dragged through the mud by a media all too eager to believe anonymous sources and unaccountable bloggers," Haley Spokesman Rob Godfrey said in a statement released to media outlets across the state.
The letter reads in part:
After further consideration of your organization, we have detennined an examination is not warranted at this time for the above tax period. We did not conduct an examination for the above period. Do not consider this as an examination that resulted in no change to your tax liabilities.
On Thursday PalmettoPublicRecords.org published a story claiming that an indictment was imminent for Haley in the case, and published a copy of an IRS letter informing the Sikh Society it planned to investigate its tax exempt status.
The Haley administration did not directly respond Thursday to Patch.com's requests for comment on the story, however Haley took to Facebook and Twitter Thursday evening to deny the allegations.
PalmettoPublicRecord founder Logan Smith told Patch.com on Friday he stands behind the reporting.

It is obvious that some factions are determined to undermine everything the governor attempts. I am beginning to believe that one cannot believe most articles written by the news mediums.

Interesting, the S.C. government is listed as one of the most corrupt in the nation and an investigation into the actions of the current governor is now called off. I suspect more corruption is going on behind the scenes.

Interesting Ken, you make some statements as fact, but there is no substantive citied proof of them. It's easy to throw words around but you do need to make statements base on citied facts in this case.

WHY would the PATCH even print something like this yesterday ... with all kinds of unnamed sources ... and denials from other people they asked about it. It's a HATCHET JOB against Haley, that's all. Seems the PATCH does not WOMEN in politics ... or is it they don't like her heritage ?
