Police Release Photo of West Ashley Shooting Suspect

Charleston Police are asking for help locating David Capers, who they consider armed and dangerous

Charleston Police have taken out three warrants against a North Charleston man accused of firing a gun at a car on Evergreen Street on March 18.

David Capers, 25, of 2951 Alabama Drive, North Charleston, faces three counts of assault and battery — 2nd degree, according to a Charleston Police Department statement. Around 8:20 p.m., Monday, March 18, CPD alleges Capers was the man that fired a single shot at a Jeep Cherokee on Evergreen Street. Three people, including one juvenile were in the vehicle at the time.

Capers in known to spend time in the Ardmore neighborhood in West Ashley as well as the Gadsden Green and East Side neighborhoods downtown. He is considered to be armed and dangerous, according to the statement.

Anyone with information about Capers' whereabouts is asked to call CPD at 577-7434, or Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
