Mellow Mushroom with its whole wheat pizza is a beer lovers pie in a class by itself; perhaps the best in the area. A second tier, if you will, comprises Brixx, EVO and Monza; all very high quality products with regular wheat crusts that are sure to delight.

King's Pizza (Italian Bistro) on Ladson Rd. in the Food Lion Shopping center. Food is excellent and the owners Vinny and Andre are true to the Italian name being from Naples and then settling in both NJ and NY before bringing their awesome pie to the south!!

Thank you for joining the conversation. We've made a few changes to our Readers' Choice Awards program. Previously we ran a separate contest for every Patch site here is South Carolina (and in most cases across the country where Patches are located), but with the new contest rules we're running the contests within our cluster groups here in S.C. So we're actually pitting the businesses in West Ashley against Mount Pleasant, Goose Creek and Summerville. The four Patch sites in the Columbia area and the three in the Greenville area are also running regional contests for the same categories. We're hoping combining our contests for regional winners will make the competition a little more interesting, and encourage a little bit of friendly rivalry between our Patch communities. We're taking nominations for about 30 different categories that you can see at the following link (http://westashley.patch.com/articles/readers-nominate-2012-7b1fa2a1), so don't forget to nominate your favorites in all the other categories as well, and make sure you vote once we open that phase of the contest in a few weeks.
