Skeletal Remains Found on West Ashley Greenway

A forensic anthropologist and forensic dentist are helping the Charleston County Sheriff's Office identify skeletal remains found on the West Ashley Greenway

Charleston County Sheriff's Office investigators are working with a forensic anthropologist and a forensic dentist to identify skeletal remains found on the West Ashley Greenway Friday evening.

The remains were located on the Greenway in the 2950 block of Savannah Highway, near Croghan Landing and C.E. Williams Middle School. Investigators learned of the remains around 6:15 p.m. Friday, according to a CCSO statement.

"At this time the circumstances of how the remains came to be at the location or how long they have been at the location is not known," Mjr. James Brady said. "It is also too early into the investigation at this time to determine an identity or to tell if the remains are related to any open investigations."
