Tornado Watch in Effect for Lowcountry
National Weather Service puts Lowcountry under tornado watch until 8 p.m. Friday.
The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch advisory for Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester counties until 8 p.m. Friday.
A tornado watch means there is a possibility of tornado development. A warning means that a tornado has been spotted in the area.
Unseasonably warm and moist air combined with the strong winds have created the potential for a tornado, according to the weather service. Potential thunderstorms have added to the conditions.
The most severe weather should be between 1 and 7 p.m. Friday.
The weather service advises residents in southeast South Carolina to continue to monitor the latest weather conditions throughout the day.
