What Should Go Here: KFC

Coming out of the Great Recession empty storefronts are pretty common, but we want to know what Patch.com users want to see fill those empty business properties

You used to be able to get a 10-piece bucket of Extra Crispy or the Colonel's Original Recipe here, but KFC moved out of this spot on Sam Rittenburg Boulevard a few years ago.

There's still plenty of traffic driving by the location though, many would tell you in the afternoons between 5-6 p.m. there's too much traffic.

A natural food store or vegetarian based based prepared food business would be nice. If we aren't careful, Sam Rittenberg will become all convenience stores and check cashing/title loan businesses. Sam Rittenberg is an eyesore and new businesses need to be controlled more carefully. It looks pretty nasty with too many strip mall sections.

I'd like to see some craft-type stores in West Ashley...perhaps a yarn shop in this space, which is too small for an all-purpose craft store (e.g., Michaels, Hobby Lobby, Joanns). There are other places (e.g., the now-empty Marshall's on Sam Rittenburg) that would suit for an all-purpose shop. Summerville has two quilt shops; North Charleston has two all-purpose craft shops! Alternatively, I'd like to see an independent book store, or perhaps a not-too-upscale boutique.
I also like Mr. Kaynard's idea about a food business. There used to be a health-food store on St. Andrews.

A perfect location for a Starbucks with a drive-thru, which has been LONG sought after in this part of West Ashley!!!
