What Should Go Here: Kim's

Coming out of the Great Recession empty storefronts are pretty common, but we want to know what Patch.com users want to see fill those empty business properties

For more than 20 years Kim's Restaurant served up Japanese and Korean cuisine in West Ashley, but earlier this year the restaurant closed its doors for good.

Eating there was an experience in itself as skilled chefs sliced and diced your food right in front of you — the kids really liked the onion volcano trick and watching the chefs flip and spin their knives without losing any fingers. If you ate there often enough you got to know the owners and the staff on a first name basis.

The building's distinctive Asian architectural style might make the property less appealing for some other types of businesses, but the location along Old Towne Road, not far from the I-26 Cosgrove Road exit holds tons of potential.

So set aside you fond memories of Kim's and tell us what you'd like to see go here.

Fred, thank you for the flashback to Village Inn-they had great pizza and used to serve soda in ice cold pitchers-my church youth group enjoyed their pizza after our meetings every Sunday way back in the 1970s-I wish they would re-inhabit the building!
