Burrell & Flynn's Opens This Weekend

Need a cup of coffee on the run, beginning this weekend you can pick up a cup of Joe at the drive-thru at Burrell & Flynn's

Over the past few months West Ashley has lost two local coffee shops when first Local Market and Cafe and then Alchemy Coffee closed up shop.

But this weekend Burrell & Flynn's Coffee Eats & Sweats will open its doors and drive-thru window for customers thirsty for cafine. Located at 1209 Savannah Hwy. in what used to be On The Fly, the shop is the latest venture from Beth Burrell and Seana Flynn.

"We'd been out of the food industry for a few years and we missed it," Burrell said. "We wanted to get back into it and a coffee shop seemed like a good start."

The pair's last venture in the restaurant business was Lil' Mama's on Folly Beach, and Burrell said some of the favorite menu items from that restaurant will make their way onto the menu at Burrell & Flynn's.

"We'll have our seriously sharp pimento cheese," Burrell said. "And we've got our signature 1-pound brownies."

With a full line of coffee drinks including the standard drip coffee, capuccinos, frappes, lattes and more, Burrell & Flynn's will also feature smooties, fresh baked goods that change on a daily basis and a carry-out menu of sandwiches and salads.

The coffee shop will also be updating it's Facebook page daily with specials.

Burrell and Flynn already own some other businesses in West Ashley, including , and Burrell said the area was a natural choice for their newest venture.

"West Ashley needed a good drive-thru coffee shop," Burrell said.

Burrell is hopeful that the shop can pick up some of the customers that are looking for a new favorite cup of coffee since Local and Alchemy closed.

Burrell & Flynn's will be open 7 a.m. - 3 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. on Saturdays.
