First Time Homebuyer Workshop

The free First Time Homebuyer Workshop provides prospective homebuyer's the opportunity  to gain a better understanding about the homeownership process, complete a mortgage application, receive a referral to a local real estate agent, and apply for their homeowners insurance all in one place while working one-on-one with an experienced, professional homebuyer counselor. 
Upon completion of this certified workshop, participants may also be eligible for a variety of first time homebuyer mortgage options including downpayment and closing costs assistance grants offered to qualified buyers by the South Carolina State Housing Program through many area lenders.

  • Budgeting and Credit Counselors
  • Home Inspectors
  • Attorneys
  • Real Estate Agents
  • Insurance Agents
  • Mortgage Brokers
  • Loan Originators 

 WORKSHOP TOPICS DISCUSSED INCLUDE:

  • Which mortgage programs are best for me?
  • How much of a home can I qualify for and afford?
  • Buying HUD properties and foreclosures
  • Getting the most out of working with your realtor
  • Home inspections 
  • Fees, credit scores, budgeting and current market conditions
  • Downpayment and closing cost assistance for qualified buyers
At each workshop, participants have the opportunity to be pre-qualified by a preferred lender at no additional cost or obligation.
