4 Juveniles Arrested in Armed Robbery

Four boys in jail after Sunday robbery on Ashley Avenue.

Four Charleston teens are in custody on charges stemming from an Ashley Avenue pizzeria robbery, and police are investigating whether the youngsters are responsible for a similar hold-up at the same restaurant.

Here's the statement from Charleston Police Spokesman Charles Francis: 

Charleston Police arrested four juveniles Monday, September 9, 2013 for an armed robbery Sunday, September 8, 2013 to an Ashley Avenue business. The juveniles are ages 13 to 15.

Three of the juveniles are charged with armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime. The fourth juvenile is charged with armed robbery. They are being held in the juvenile detention center.

The incident occurred about 11:30 p.m. at the Charleston Pizza Company at 271 Ashley Avenue. Three of the juveniles robbed the business and an employee of his wallet, while one of the juveniles acted as a lookout.

The business also was robbed on July 31, 2013 by two black males who were armed with a rifle. Detectives haven’t determined a connection between the robberies.
