Suspect Charged in Bresee Street Robbery Attempt

A North Charleston man has been charged in connection with an attempted robbery on James Island last mont.

Charleston Police have charged a North Charleston man in connection with an assault and attempted robbery on James Island in July.

Charles Levon Seabrook, II, is charged with attempted strong arm robbery and assault and battery — 2nd degree, according to a Charleston Police Department statement.

The assault and attempted robbery took place on July 26, in front of a home on Bresee Street on James Island. The victim met another person at the residence to transact the sale of a dirt bike arranged through an online classified ad. After the money exchanged hands someone tapped the victim on the shoulder and punched him in the face when he turned around, knocking him to the ground, according to the statement. 

The assailant was chased away by witnesses who stopped him from rifling through the victim's pockets, according to the statement.
