Crash Sends Deputy, Motorist to Hospital

A Charleston County Sheriff's Deputy and another motorist are in the hospital following a collision Sunday.

An early morning collisions sent a Charleston County Sheriff's Deputy and another motorist to an area hospital, according to a CCSO statement. The collision occurred around 2:30 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Magwood Drive and Glenn McConnell Parkway. Both the deputy and the other motorist were transported to an area hospital for treatment. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the wreck.

Driver Dead After West Ashley Crash

One person was killed Thursday in a crash that happened in the Ashley Landing Shopping Center parking lot

One person was dead Thursday evening after a car traveling on Sam Rittenberg Boulevard left the road and collided with a car parked in Ashley Landing Shopping Center. The collision happened around 5:40 p.m. Thursday, according to a Charleston Police Department statement. The driver did not survive. A person inside the parked car at the time of the wreck was transported to an area hospital and is expected to be fine, according to the statement. Police are investigating what led to the collision.

Utility Truck Falls Off of I-26 Overpass

Two people have been hospitalized.

An SCE&G utility truck fell from the Interstate 26 overpass leading from the Ravenel Bridge Tuesday afternoon, injuring two workers. Police say the truck was being escorted from the bridge by a marked cruiser when the retractable boom struck an overpass sign. The collision caused the truck to tumble from the overpass. It landed between the overpass and the E. Bay Street off-ramp. The workers were alert and talking when emergency help arrived, said police spokesman Charles Francis. Police were told the men suffered non life-threatening injuries and were being treated at MUSC, Francis said. One of Three Suspects Charged in Joshua Street Home Invasion

Charleston Police have charged one man in connection with a May 5 home invasion and robbery on Joshua Street, investigators are still searching for two other suspects

One man is behind bars in connection with a May 10 home invasion and robbery on Joshua Street, according to Charleston Police. Rudolph Brown, 36, of Grech Street, is charged with burglary 1st degree and two counts of kidnapping, according to a CPD statement. He was on probation for narcotics charges at the time and is being held at the Al Cannon Detention Center. Brown is accused of being one of three armed men who kicked in a Joshua Street door around 8:50 a.m. March 5. The victims told police the men yelled "North Charleston Police don’t move!" and "Where's the money?" when they entered the home. At least one of the armed men fired shots inside the home, though no injuries were reported. One of the victims fled through a bathroom window…
