Stratford High grad Matt Wieters will be making his first appearance next week at the Major League Baseball All-Star Game. The 25-year-old catcher for the Baltimore Orioles will be playing for the American League team on July 12 in Phoenix. "You know, [I'm] just proud of being able to improve from last year to this year and to have the improvement that allowed me to have the opportunity to go to Arizona,” Wieters told mlb.com.
